Hey folks,

Long time reader, rare poster here.

I've got a bit of a problem (only myself to blame too). It seems that I've only saved my *.dat files (no *.dlg files, no *.zxu files, no *.txt files). I think I know the answer from reading other posts about recovering and importing logs...

...am I hooped? Is there really no way to recover dive data given *only* the data files?

Shouldn't matter but I'm using an OC1.

I depends on the information you want. All notes and manual info is gone if there is no .bak file on your system. If you re-download your dive computer you will get some information back otherwise you will need to send your dat file to oceanic and they can format it to a dlg format.

I'm pretty sure that oceanlog stored their data in a MDB file (MS Access). The file was locked so you could not access it outside of oceanlog. I'm almost positive that it is the MDB file that you are looking for.

They change the MDB to a DLG format back in 2000. The file comes from the dive computer as a DAT file then it converted to a DLG file type by the software.
