These are available in both gas and electric versions. From time to time used compressor do become available as well and are obviously less money that buying new.
For used compressors keep an eye out here and on E-Bay. Do be a little careful as for some reason compressors have an above average number of internet scams.
I am looking for a used compressor as it will be used very little. It is either buy a bunch of tanks or a compressor. I don't want to go to the LDS all the time.
My recommendation is to look into a cascade system. Our shop will fill them to 4500 and you don't have to worry about maintenance. we actually recommend these to local fire departments since they do not get much use from their compressors and they seem to have more problems from lack of use. Cascade bottle should be less money also.

Contact Jim. Nice compressors at good prices. Many are new surplus compressors; some are used. I bought a new E6.0 from him. It is a very small 6 CFM unit that I set on top of a small table.
