EPL5 Olympus housing - internal flash diffuser?

The flash on the EPL5 isn't too useful in many circumstances due to the shadow cast by the lens. In the underwater housing, the situation is worse. I would imagine that the onboard flash has no use underwater whatsoever? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

With this in mind, I don't understand why Olympus supply a diffuser with the housing. Any thoughts?

You can still use if for shots that are a foot or two away from the port. It is useless for macro though.......
 
2 dollar piece of plastic.....unless you try to order a replacement one :) im sure they are assuming strobes will be used, especially if you are shelling out these kinda bux.
