have had some probs with my zoom lens for a couple dives
did two dives this weekend and when i pulled the camera out of the housing the zoom lens fell apart inside :06:
Where is the best place to have it fixed ???????????????
I think just to add Pain to the camera loss
The next dive i had a 4 foot ray swim under me twice and two green morays with in 3 feet of me
One swam by and grinned at me
I could feel him saying "" bet you wish you had a camera"

Try calling Oly as suggested. They usually do not have 4040 refurbs to replace yours. They may suggest an upgrade which won't help you with the PT-010 housing. If you can't work out a solution with Oly you can find C4000Z refurbs online for as low as $199.00. I have two of them. It is a lesser feature version of the 4040 but still a 4MP camera and the price is right. It fits in your housing. You can't beat the price.
I have a e-mail into Olympus asking for a rough guess on repairs
and now have been thinking of getting another camera to have as a backup.
what does the 4040 have that the 4000 doesn't ????
