I am a new diver looking for people to go with. I have done 8 dives so far out of my 50 goal for the year. i have dove in Wiarton, Gulliver’s and Innerkip.
my work shifts are very odd so I can go mid week as well as weekends.
my issue is I don’t drive, so it is hard for me to get my tanks or get to dive sites.
I am always interested in diving if possible!
I am trying to get as much diving as I can get in before it is to cold, I have all my own gear other then tanks and weights (right now).
OK, to keep this thread alive for you, I will ask a couple questions.
Do you dive wet or dry? This will help people decide how late into the season you can be diving. I personally would not dive with a new diver who is diving wet in waters colder than about 55*. The extreme cold has too great an influence on the diver's comfort and decision making abilities.
Do you need your potential dive buddy to pick up your gear (tanks / weights) or do you have the means of getting them? I think this needs to be asked for clarification.
Tri-City Scuba in Kitchener has groups go to Gulliver's I think every Wednesday so you could also call them and see if there is any room for a certified diver in need of a buddy and lots of diving.
I know how difficult is can be to get in lots of dives (I became a Groundhog by doing 100 dives in my second year of diving)......that was beyond a challenge in my situation. Keep talking to Bruce and Yvonne and the rest of the group at Groundhog and see when they are doing scheduled dives where certified divers are welcome. Finally, also post something on Ontario Diving as there are people on that Board that are not on here often.

i did not know that tri-city goes up every wed, thank you very much for that info.
i have not dry suit dove before.
i have a 7mm wet suit currently.
as for picking up equipment, it would help to have a tank picked up. but if i have advance notice i can always pick one up and cab it back to my place. not a issue.
I am a UW student, I could go for some diving. Only problem is that I don't drive either, and my gear is at home. Anyways, I am up for getting wet. I dive wet in a 7mm and own my own stuff. I should note that I had no problems with the cold on the arabia in toby during a 25 minute dive, so cold is not an issue.
I know that tricity (cause i dive with them) is having a pumpkin dive on the 30 of october, its pretty fun and their always lots of people to dive with
