Ben McDaniel, 30, from Collierville, TN went to be with the Lord August 18, 2010 while cave diving at Vortex Springs in Ponce De Leon, FL. He graduated from the University of Memphis in 2004 majoring in construction management and continued on with his creative spirit by starting his own construction company. Ben was an avid rock climber as was his younger brother Paul, 22, who died of a stroke September 14, 2008 and gave the gift of life to four people. Ben and his brother Tim started the Paul McDaniel foundation to raise awareness about strokes and organ donation. Ben loved scuba diving and was working on his instructor’s license. He moved on to Heaven doing what he loved! He became a believer at an early age accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He shared with everyone that he loved his Lord and Savior. Now, Ben and Paul are together again. Ben will be greatly missed by his parents, Shelby and Patty McDaniel; two brothers, Tim McDaniel and wife Nicole and their son Calen; Brad McDaniel and wife Sarah and their children, Ellon, Doss and Josie. Ben was the grandson of the late Benjamin and Francis Baker. Visitation will be Tuesday October 5 from 6-8 p.m. and a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday October 6. At the service you may bring a note or special memories of Ben to be included in the open cases. Donations may be given to the Paul McDaniel Foundation, P.O. Box 770758, Memphis, TN 38177.
