Anyone in the NY/NJ area spearfish? I really wanted to get into it in FL, but now I'm back up here. What kinds of fish can you bag?

Aujax- I'm not really into spearfishing, but I can hook you up with some good locations. Most dive shops have spearfishing clubs and charter trips too. Off boats you can get lots of different fish.

If you shore dive, look for Blackfish in areas with lots of rubble, and you can seasonally get Blues and Stripers in the inlets if you get good enough.

Go night diving with a pole spear, and you'll be able to bag some tasty Fluke and Flounders on almost every dive. At night, you can swim up and touch them before they'll move. It's almost too easy.
