Do you have any evidence that indicates that this is, in fact, made by the same company that makes the Canon housing?

I have the same case, it's made by MeiKon and can be had for around $110 on ebay, free shipping. It looks extremely similar to the OEM Canon case, except for the closing mechanism (the latch) and that it's more colorful
