And the new winner is? El Pinoy Dive Resort

I just stayed there over the weekend of 5-9 Sep, got 9 dives in...

Room was great, food was great, DM was excellent, boats weren't the tiny little banca boats many resorts use, but a nice size banca with rubberized side rails and decks...

And, El Pinoy sits right in the middle of the classic Anilao dives... you are literally 10 minutes from Cathedral one way and Twin Rocks the other. Across the passage is Caban Cove and Kirby's Rock.

The price was right, everyone gets scared away by the stairs (200 of them), but I'm telling you that my big 300# plus butt could handle the stairs easily... and being in this location was awesome, I'd give it a solid B+ compared to my last trip where they were possibly a solid C+ in comparison.

Contact these guys, I don't have a dog in this hunt, but if you want to visit Anilao and see the critters, and enjoy your stay without a lot of extra expense. This is the place.

I'm curious too. I'm currently planning a trip there and going thru all the resorts sorting out prices etc. So far I've either found prices that are out of my league or resorts that have some bad reviews. I just can't park my wife at a resort that's rundown or has bad food, while I get to dive. I have a few I'm waiting for pricelists for, and a few that look good and are in my price range,
but it's always good to hear from my fellow scubaboarder's.

We are both divers and so excited to be at Club O in April/May. But if I was a non diver, I liked the looks of Buceo and Acacia. Aiyanar seemed a little too pricey, but also nice.

What I can recommend to you is the Pier Uno Resort. I usually stay there when I'm in Anilao. Good food and accommodations. They have big bancas and well stocked dive shop. The price is right and not too expensive . Look it up and look for Juliet my (Suki). Tell them Jimmy Tan recommended you and they will give you a discount ( if you asked for it).

I really enjoyed our week at Aiyanar Resort. I had a group of 30 plus, 25 of them divers and they coped really well with such a large group - the dive operation os first class and the dive guides are brilliant. Bhok is the best! I've never been anywhere where dive guides know the latin names of Nudibranch species - they are very specialised and love their work. The resort is superbly landscaped and laid out - the pool area is very chilled and attractive and the dive centre and photogra[hy room is simply the best I have seen. I've done a photobook and this link will take you to a high res. proof copy. Aiyanar also has speedboats than can easily access Verde island in 35 - 40 minutes. I too am planning to dive there early 2015. I'm keeping an eye on this thread.

We usually recommend Crystal Blue Resort specifically because of their photo pro, Mike Bartick.

Hi Diver Jen,

The End of the year is coming and with it comes the Dive Show Circuit... Lots of special deals to be given away!
And since your planned dates of travel are April and May I am sure there are groups that you could join to make the prices more affordable.

Email Me at marco.santos@aiyanar.com for more information and I would be glad to work on our Anilao Itinerary with you.

Looking forward to Diving with you in Anilao Next summer.

Warm Regards,

Marco
