Congratulations and Welcome to the Philippines !!!

Diving Tips : tagalog english translation (ok some words are different if from Visayas and mindanao, depends on which of the 7,000+ islands you would be located)

Pawikan : sea turtle

bahura : underwater reef / mountain , one of the best places to dive

Laot : sea ward

Habagat : South west winds
(calm sea on the east side of the island, rough on west side)

Amihan : North Easterly winds
(calm seas on the west side of the island, makes the pacific side for Surfing)

pusit : squid, cuttlefish

Pating : shark

bangka : dive boat (hehehhehe)

bangkero : dive boat captain
(but its the DM and the Instructor that gets to Boss around)

bubu : fish traps deep underwater
(nasty piece of contraption, very simple yet very effective !!! )

Tulong : Help

Tubig : water

Dagat : sea

Alat : salty

Sea Urchin : ah this crawlie has lots of coloquial names .....

Mabuhay : just don't use this , smile na lang , hehehhehehehe

ay shet = oops
oh shet = uh oh
shet patay! = oh crap! brace yourselves!

chit = bill
bir nga = 1 beer please
isa = one
dalawa = two
tatlo = three
apat = four
bir/ beer/ pale = san miguel pale pilsen
light = san mig light
dry = san mig super dry
strong = san miguel strong ice
red horse = extra strong beer
mani = peanuts
sisig = sizzling minced pork wonder that's amazing with beer... (trust me!)

some tagalog drinking terms:

bombado= bombed out of his/her witts
sayad= crazy
sipa=hit
hilo=dizzy

use all in one sentence?
