Yes, it's true. Pinnacle is not going away, you just won't be able to get any product for God-knows-how-long. Hope you haven't ordered anything within the last few months.
Well I'm glad they're not disappearing for good. That would mean the companies that made the last 2 drysuits I bought -Pinnacle and Andy's- had both gone down the tubes. The suits are apparently better than the companies that made them as I have had no problems with either.
My LDS is a Pinnacle dealer. For the past several months he has been dealing with the Zeagle folks to place his orders. He mentioned last week that I was lucky to get the 7mm suit I picked up, since they are now out of stock on it. When he asked Zeagle, they said they were bringing out their own line of wetsuits, and that Pinnacle was going to be phased out.
This is just what the order taker told him, but does not sound good. Does anyone have a link to a press release or some other public communication that might clarify the status of Pinnacle?
This is what Scott had to say on ScubaToys board. The same type of post is going on over there:
"There isn't a lot that I can say, as there are lawyers involved and that always muddles things up.
Zeagle is currently working on making our own suit. One that meets the standards that people have come to expect from us in fit and quality..." this is from Pinnacle Wetsuits
I really hoped Pinnacle was able to hang on because they got one heck of a suit in the Merino series. But it doesn't sound good for them
I wonder where this leaves the Lavacore line? My understanding is that Lavacore is a joint project between Pinnacle and Oceanic, with Pinnacle owning Lavacore.

That is a relationship between Pinnacle New Zealand and Oceanic. It is not affected in any way...
