Pinnacle please fix or replace the zipper on my Kodiak semi-drysuit! I love the suit!

I bought a Pinnnacle Kodiak semi-drysuit from a local dive shop in Santa Clara, Ca. I have never been warmer or more comfortable in dive suit in my life, and I've been diving since 1975. The only problem is after about 2.5 weeks, the zipper broke. The shop sent it in for repair, but can't seem to get it back or replaced. I really miss this suit, and Pinnacle has had it for a month. I really hope I get it back soon. At least they are honoring the warranty. I had a front entry wetsuit for years and never had a problem with the zipper. That why I was so surprised when a couple of the teeth broke on this one.

That happened to a friend of mine- and they replaced it with a wetsuit zipper! Did yours come back with the same semi-dry zipper or a wetsuit zipper?

Yes it did. It's a very heavy duty zipper, and the original was not really a true drysuit zipper anyway, so hopefully I will be warm in it. How does your friend fell about it? Is he warm with the new zipper?

It seems to be OK, and a closed WS zipper is better than a broken SDS zipper any day!

I tried out the "semi-dry" wetsuit with the new zipper, and it's no longer semi-dry. It let water in fairly freely. The shop e-mailed Pinnacle, but no response yet. I must confess I'm getting a bit frustrated. I indicated to the shop if Pinnacle can give me a deal on a newer model semi-dry wet suit, I'll trade back in the one they repaired and buy it. I've used the repaired one only once. I am going to give it one more try when Monterey gets above 39 degrees! I had worn a Lycria suit under the repaired suit and maybe it made me feel wetter because the Merino lining seems to help wick away the water. We shall see. Anyone else have a comment on repaired suits?

The reality is for Monterey diving diving the best way to save money on a wetsuit is to buy a drysuit. 39 degree topside is not a big deal with a drysuit. Maybe see if you can trade it in on a drysuit? Not sure how you made it 500 dives in a wetsuit, as our water gets cold

One of my friends is a die hard wetsuit diver and gave up a drysuit to purchase a top of the line custom fitted wetsuit. He is now looking for a drysuit again, since there are days he just doesn't want to do the second or third dive.

I'd be pissed... Interested to see how their customer service is, so far, it seems pretty poor..

Since I received zero support from Pinnacle on a custom dry suit don't hold your breath. Since then I have replaced everything with products that have customer service!

Pinnacle (Pre-Zeagle) seemed to have a ton of zipper issues. I had two separate zippers fail on a 7mil ME suit. I know of 2 other Kodiaks that also failed. The service was OK, and they replaced the first suit for me- except the one I had fit perfectly (made in Mexico) and the replacement was a full size too small (made in China), so back and forth one more time. Adding a wetsuit zipper to a "Semi-dry" is just wrong in my book- it is no longer what you paid for. I love the suits for warmth and comfort, but will never but another Pinnacle until they get their manufacturing and customer service under control.
