I read that three 400 foot Liberty Ships lay at a depth of 100 feet off of Port Mansfield. The ships are upright, and their tops reach a depth of 85 feet. These ships were intentionally sunk in the 1970s by the federal government. Nine 'Rigs to Reef' structures were also added to complete the reef. The gas and oil structures top out at 50 feet. The site is located about 2.5 hours north of South Padre Island and is now known as the Port Mansfield Liberty Ship Reef.

Can anyone provide a dive review at this or other Liberty Ship sites off of Mustang Island, Port O'Conner, and Freeport?

What charters are going to these locations?

I am surprised there is not more buzz about this location considering the number of ships that are there.
