Workshop Program

Pre-registration with DUI is requested. While last minute additions are possible, we must have a good idea of attendance so we have enough program materials. The program will include:

· Discussion about risks Public Safety Divers encounter and how to minimize those risks. Topics include contaminated water, hazards, exposure protection, alternative methods, and decontamination procedures.

· Network with teams nationwide to review field proven methods.

· Information on the latest research into the effects of contaminated water diving will be presented.

· An overview of the US Navy, Association of Diving Contractors, and OSHA standards that include contaminated water diving/decontamination procedures directly applicable to public safety operations.

· Latest research in decontamination effectiveness and practicality

· A discussion of the pros and cons of various drysuit materials for public safety diver use.

· Special concerns for public safety diving ops and the unique features of DUI products that address those needs.

· Hands on demonstrations of decontamination procedures including definitive decontamination. These hands on demos will include the set up of a rapid deployment decon shower and pool. In addition, there will be a demonstration of the Macaw Compressed Air Foam System. This system is designed to provide definitive decontamination for biological contamination and can be used to make a barrier against surface fuel.

· Suggestions for funding sources as well as grant writing techniques

· Demo of all DUI products including suits with DUI ZipSeals and the RS1050 vulcanized rubber drysuit

· NEW! Hands on ROV demonstrations

The Public Safety seminar contains information regarding grant availability and writing, our Macaw decontamination units, risk management, exposure protection, and a Public Safety manual filled with information every team should know.

If your team hits the water, the information provided in this seminar is crucial.

If you are interested in attending the event, you may register online or contact me directly at Jessica@dui-online.com or 1-800-325-8439 ext. 318. If you are interested in possibly hosting a Public Safety Seminar at your location, please contact us.

Blades, did not mean to confuse you....I (Gary Layton) posted that, not Jessica. I received the notice in my personal email from my dive team leader recently. I simply posted it here so that other PSD's would know about it.
