Is this possible...?

If i were to take out the "Hard Plastic" back plate on my Cressi Sub BAC JAC, and replace it with an Alumnium, or Steel back plate would the BCD be able to handle a steel doubles tank set up? I already know that the wing would have enough air lift capacity (50pounds lift) for steel tanks.

Why don't you just use your steel tank with the set up you have? You don't need a steel bp to use a steel tank.

As long as it's a single tank there's no issue here. If it's doubles you are talking about get rid of the jacket and buy a BPW set up. Looking at it on the cressi website it is in no way designed to be stable enough to use with doubles. Even though 50lbs of lift with a single tank(even a steel) is alot of overkill this is a recreational single tank bc. Plain and simple.
