They are both very, very similar.
Either would be perfect for water temps down to the low 40's.
 
do you have everything else? You can save A LOT of money getting the essentials package with the titan
 
Actually, a better comparison would be between an Apeks AT-20 and a Titan LX. The Apeks has both first and second stages balanced, and the plain Titan has an unbalanced second stage. The Titan LX has a balanced second with a metal air barrel, which is the same as the Apeks.
 
I've never used Apeks, but I've got about 50 dives on my Titan and am very happy so far. No freeflows or other issues. As Axiom mentioned, if you need all new gear, the Essentials package from Aqualung is a good deal. My dealer let me upgrade a couple items for the difference in price between the package item and the new item.
