AL Legend LX Supreme setup and maintenance

Is there any reason why I can or cannot mount the first stage upside down? Following the manufacturers pictures when mounting it sits a little too high and I'm hitting my head on it while trying to look up. A real PITA when snorkelling too. Unless I remove the top tank band then then the tank is as low as it will go.

As for maintenance, I was concerned in regards to the manufactureres recommendations:
    1) does anyone soak their regs in warm fresh water for an hour after use or just lets it sit in cold fresh water for a few mins?
    2) does the VAK really need to be fully closed when rinsing?
    3) does everyone use a pressurised tank attached to the regs when rinsing?

Also, does anyone else experience a funny exhaust noise when at the surface? Underwater it is quiet, above water it farts. Adjusting the VAK or VAS does not change this. It was like this out of the box. The LX occy is fine.

Sorry for the stupid questions - still fairly new to diving.

    Thanks for the help.
    Damian.

No mount it anyway you want.

While that does a decent job of clearing the salt water it is too time consuming and I doubt anyone does that. You can do just as good job by giving it a fresh water rinse right after your last dive of day and then giving it a good warm water rinse with running water in the tub or sink that evening.

    2) does the VAK really need to be fully closed when rinsing?
No. However you do not what it fully open. The ideal is to make sure you are not allowing water in the upstream side of the low pressure seat when you dunk the stage into water while unpressurized.

    3) does everyone use a pressurized tank attached to the regs when rinsing?

Not many do. again the ideal is to prevent water from entering upstream of the low pressure seats or into the first stage. This is also why we do not recommend blasting the 1st stage dry with tank air after the dive before putting the dust cap in place. Water and/or salt when it enters the 1st stage or upstream side of the second stage can create a lot of problems.

It is common especially for the aqualung products. It is a harmonic that commonly occurs when the diaphragm is dry. It can be cured by proper adjustment or replacement of the diaphragm.

No honest question is stupid here so no apologies are necessary. You keep asking and the top notch people here will try to answer all of your questions without hesitation. Welcome again hope I helped.
