i have been diving with my Sherwood oasis regs for 3 years and have no complaints and was not looking to replace them. however i just picked up a apeks atx50 (too good of a deal to pass up) i dive in Michigan so i need a good cold water reg. i want to hear your opinions on why i should or should not switch. i am assuming i am going to hear that the apeks are the better choice but i want your opinion either way. like i said i have been happy with my sherwoods so not sure i want to switch.

don't switch if you don't want to. Cold water diving is essentially sub 40F, and that's only because the first stage tends to freeze when it's exposed to the air due to the rapid cooling. If the sherwood is the constant bubble stream type then it is just as good provided the ATX50 has a sealed first stage, not all do. Other than that, it is what you're comfy with and that's all that matters

Sherwood.
