I read and see that it's pretty popular to put the alternate 2nd stage reg on a necklace and then use a long hose under the right arm for the primary 2nd stage.
It seems like that could be annoying if you're trying to look down. Possibly get under your chin. And, block your view if you're trying to look at your BC buckle or something on the lower part of your torso.
Is that not the case?
Does anyone ever put their alternate 2nd stage on the same 22 or 24" inch hose (like for a necklace), but then run it over the right shoulder and down to some kind of octo keeper attached to the right shoulder strap of the BC? I realize that you could not then get the reg in your mouth without using a hand, but I seem to read where a number of folks using necklaces don't do that anyway. And, of course, for DIR folks, I guess that would be non-standard placement. But, for regular Rec diving would that not be just as good or better than having it on a necklace?
Thanks in advance for sharing any insight.
