Was just curious do you folks who use a 40-44" primary prefer a 70 or 90 degree adaptor? Cheers.

Added: or omni/style?

Just to clarify further. Back mount.

Neither.

Get a swivel connector from Cave Adventurers. See pic. Any angle, zero to a bit over 90 smoothly and as needed.

There are two types out there, one falls apart. Ask for the good one. (they won't sell you the other one)

Cheers.

I use the same as lowviz for my sidemount regulators.

I have them and use them. Prefer them to the angle adapters that I also have. I use them in backmount. I have a very long back so the 7' hose is a bit too short, so the ball swivel makes all the difference for me with a long hose, and with a short hose it's even better. I use and like the Cave Adventurers ones, no need to get the omni's in my opinion. Just take care of them.

Thanks. When I moved to a BP/W I started out with a 40" under arm primary with a 90 I think. I then went to a 5' decided it was a tad short to route nicely. Moved onto a 7' with a 70 adapter. Have now decided to go back to the 40" primary so was just wondering what folk find most comfortable with this configuration. Cheers.

I use the 70 degree version when diving SM with 30" hoses, but I don't bother in backmount with a 7' hose.

yeah I'm too tall to comfortably use a 7' without an angle adapter. When I went to the properly sized DSS backplate, it put the waist belt quite a bit lower than it used to be and it was enough to where the 7' wouldn't let me look left. I've never liked the 110*/120* adapters, so had 90* fixed elbows for quite a while and have now switched to the ball swivels.
