What sort of oil was in an early 80's Sherwood SPG? I am thinking about openin the faceplate on mine and cleaning it out. I am thinking I will need a new O-ring and replacement oil.
BTW; I plan on doing this AFTER my new SPG gets here.
I once had the same question about a compass and I ran into this site: Liquid Inside Compass
I still have not gotten around to refilling my compass so I can not tell you with certainty of the results. Also, to make a long story short, try drug store mineral oil.
