    PSI Class

    Odyssey Diving in Thornton, Co. is hosting a PSI Visual Cylinder Inspectors hazardous materials workshop. This workshop includes training in High-pressure cyl. for emergency service, High-pressure cyl. fill station operators and cyl. handlers.
    Topics covered are:

    Review reported cyl. explosion incidents

    Review c.g.a. guidelines & fed. regs.

    EANx cyl.inspection protocol

    History & evolution of cyl. inpsection

    3AA, 3AL. & composite cyl. Manufacture

    Composites-fiberglass, kevlar, carbon fiber

    Proper filling procedures & recommendations

    Sustained load cracking in Alum. cyl.

    Damage limits

    Overview of Eddy Current inspection devices

    Thread standards & cyl. rejection limits

    Cyl. cleaning & tumbling

    18 step inspection protocol

    HAZMAT training for Fill Station Operators

    HAZMAT training for Cyl. Handlers

    Took this course several years ago, and fwiw think it’s great. Wondered what they could possibly cover that would fill 8 hours, but at the end of the day most of us wanted more.
    I always do the updates when at DEMA.

    Rick, you didn’t mention the cost. . . .

    Sorry, I knew I would forget something. The total cost for the training, workshop, & materials (Certificate, Inspector #, Registration,Inspector workbook, & text book) Is $300.00. If you have proof of previous training within 3 years, the update fee is $195.
