This lawsuit is baseless and the idea that the law is against the 14th amendment is ludicrous. The equal protectoin clause does NOT say the things that those bringing the suit state. Once again, these laws are not about cultural practices, they are about saving the PLANET! Get on board!

"The only real accountability mechanism in this certification system is consumer demand — if we don’t demand that certified fisheries are meeting meaningful standards of sustainabi...lity then certification can become what its worst critics fear: good intentions and a coat of green paint."
The above statement (from the article) is the real bottom line! Please do your due diligence for the future of the oceans!

PLEASE SHARE! This is a clarion call to what is coming. PLEASE read and share and comment. Attention MUST be paid. Here's a quote:
"This is not a story that gives me any pleasure to tell. But it needs to be told urgently and widely because it will be a disaster for the hundreds of millions of people in poor, tropical countries like Indonesia and the Philippines who depend on coral reefs for food. It will also threaten the tourism industry of rich countries with coral reefs, like the United States, Australia and Japan. Countries like Mexico and Thailand will have both their food security and tourism industries badly damaged. And, almost an afterthought, it will be a tragedy for global conservation as hot spots of biodiversity are destroyed. "
Discovery is finally coming around to realize that Shark Week needs to have a conservation message as well as being a pop culture phenomenon. Partnering with Shark Savers is a HUGE step in the right direction.

As we continue to produce more and more carbon waste, the planet keeps absorbing it. How long can that last? Changes in how we create and use energy must happen. Do we really want to find out what the earth's limit is?!

Kitty Simmonds is the executive director of the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council - the fact that she is apparently completely ignorant of environmental and overfishing issues is not only sad, it's stunning! Worth reading - this is who we have managing our resources?!

Description: Mission Log is a Roddenberry Entertainment podcast whose sole purpose is to explore the ... Star Trek universe one episode at a time. That’s right, this podcast will cover six different series and 30 seasons of television by
journeying into every one of the 726 episodes with a single mission: to explore, debate and discuss one of the largest science fiction phenomena of all time, Star Trek.
Starting with The Original Series’ initial pilot and continuing chronologically until we reach the last episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, each week our hosts, Ken Ray and John Champion, will tackle a single episode, delving into the most historical and hysterical science fiction that Star Trek has to offer. Along with a variety of guests and interviews, Mission Log will attempt to reach Star Trek’s ethical subtext, understand it’s complex metaphors and finally figure out what was the trouble with those tribbles.
Explore strange new details. Seek out new perspectives; deeper understandings. Boldly go where so many of love to go, again and again. Join us for, Mission Log!

Haven't we seen enough impact on the planet from humans plunging ahead without fully understanding the impact on the environment? Shouldn't we determine what effect deep sea mining has on the ecosystem before we start!?
