I think it works best if you post it as you do it, or as close as possible. Helps everyone else see more motivation as well.
Thanks for starting a new thread WB! It is good to be in the new year and continuing my exercise. Today Mark and I took a hike on the coastal trail and along Marshall Beach here in SF. Marshall Beach is at the bottom of some large cliffs, so we hiked down and took the long way up, which results in a longer climb up. Legs are a bit sore from it as a result. Tomorrow I think I will be taking a bike ride.

Happy New Year all!
Good to see you still going at it too!
Someone ask me if I had any New Years Resolutions...... I said "only to keep last year's going!!"
I'm in!
Today I am going on an hour's hike (hills and scrubland). I am a member of the Hash House Harriers and we do this every Sat.
Other than that 1/2 hour to an hour cycle a few times a week and some serious swimming/beach walking will fulfill my quota.
My bottom is lovely, but there could be a little less of it!!
Also, less bum = less buoyancy (my holy grail).

Welcome Rach!
Looking forward to seeing your posts in here to help keep us motivated!
I'm in! I started working out on my treadmill this past August and I'm up to 5-6 days per week, 50 minutes plus 5 minute cool down. I do a jog/walk with 3.5 minutes of jogging alternating with 2.5 minutes of walking....working to increase my jogging increment to eventually do 40 minutes of jogging with a 5 minute warm up and 10 minute cool down (walk).
Since we've been in Maui diving for 2 weeks, I haven't been on the treadmill, so Sunday will be the start for 2010. Good luck everyone!!

That's a great resolution. I guess I am in the same boat, although I have added some pound-losin', triathlon (feb '10) and 1/2 marathon (sept '10) goals, as well as some other physical fitness stuff that I want to do, including getting over being self-conscious about my body. Alas. Need to write these all down!

Good grail to have. I think I might have to adopt that one Rach!

That's awesome DiveMaven - both your running/walk program and being in Maul for 2 weeks! I just finished my Couch to 5K program and have done two 5k races (with the goal of finishing). I am interested in adding time to my runs, with a goal of 10% per week or two which is meant to be healthy. Keep up the good work!
Saturday 1/2/10 - Went to the gym - and, HOLY MOLY, it was a MADHOUSE in there. Seems the Resolutioners were everywhere!!! Unfortunately very few of them seemed to be using good hygiene of wiping down machines, etc... oh well. Elliptical (38 minutes, 3.07 miles and approximately 460 calories); followed up with cycling on the spinner (approximately 15 minutes), stretching and a nice cool down walk home from the gym.
I made chunky applesauce in the crock pot / slowcooker last night, so I am going to have some golden protein pancakes and applesauce for b-fast now! YUM!!
