I saw it last week. It was interesting. The forces acting on that sub were amazing. Fortunately, Cameron is a first rate film maker and it shows in the documentary. Having the kind of resources to make those kind of adventures must be pretty amazing.

I just watched it a week or so ago on iTunes, I was definitely impressed. I think I may just leave it on in the background the next time I have friends over, try to see how mainstream this endeavor actually was or if it’s just those of us interested in the oceans who know anything about it.

Brilliant director, brilliant film. Well worth watching.

I never knew: Cameron wanted a sub that was good to 11000 msw, but he also built a separate, autonomous traveling camera platform to get those dramatic external shots.

A regular scientist would never do that.
