Montreal, Canada (May 1, 2012) In 2012, Action Scuba, a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, is celebrating its 15th anniversary as a full service scuba diving centre serving the island of Montreal. To mark this milestone, the dive shop will kick off a summer of anniversary celebrations with a three-day Customer Appreciation event, from May 4-6, 2012.
Action Scuba was founded in 1997 in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, and initially offered PADI scuba lessons, dive equipment, and a dive charter. Since then this West Island landmark has since grown into a large, full service scuba diving centre that offers global dive travel, underwater photography, scuba instructor training plus technical and rebreather diving, alongside its core business of recreational scuba diver training and outfitting. Action Scuba also carries a full line of snorkeling equipment for those not quite ready to take the plunge into SCUBA.
Action Scuba has cultivated an active scuba diving club by organizing weekly dive charters, social gatherings and regular group trips. As a result, the Action Scuba dive community today is comprised of hundreds of passionate scuba divers from all over Montreal.
Over the course of their 15 year history of serving scuba divers and snorkelers, Action Scuba staff have trained over 3000 scuba divers, and the centre itself has achieved a number of noteworthy industry accomplishments, including; becoming recognized as a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre in 2006, a status it retains year after year, plus receiving the PADI Green Star Award for commitment to environmental programs, becoming the first dive centre in Canada to launch the 100% Aware marine conservation program from Project AWARE, and most recently, receiving an award of Outstanding Achievement from PADI, the Professional Association of Dive Instructors and the world’s leading scuba diver training organization.
The 15th Anniversary festivities are intended to celebrate all of these achievements and reward Action Scuba’s loyal customer base for their continued support through the years. These activities will include a 3-day storewide sale on gear and accessories for scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming at their West Island location on Cartier Avenue.
Attendees will be eligible to win door prizes, including a day out on Action Scuba’s dive charter in the Thousand Islands, home of hundreds of historical shipwrecks. In keeping with their commitment to the environment, Action Scuba will also be serving a BBQ lunch in exchange for donations to Project AWARE, a global non-profit organization focused on marine conservation.
“We are truly delighted to be celebrating our 15th anniversary this year. We’ve helped thousands of Montrealers achieve their scuba diving dreams, and we intend to continue doing so for at least another 15 years,” says Gary Davis, owner of Action Scuba, and a PADI Master Instructor who has personally certified over 750 scuba divers. “We are lucky to have such a great community of enthusiastic and fun scuba divers here at Action Scuba, and we are going to work hard this year at rewarding their continued loyalty”.
