SB is not very poetically inclined. Every so often I try to get people started up with writing humorous limericks or poems, but it always seems to fall flat. Hope you have better luck...

    Big Grin Holiday Scuba Poem

Hi I just posted a Christmas poem in the parent directory to this one. I missed the Poetry forum at least three times. I should have put it here I can't post links yet, but i'm sure you can search for "sea slug christmas" and find it. Or you can look through post authored by me and find it that way as this is only my second one.

    Not holiday-related, I admit, but I was working on this today . . .

Three Thousand Pounds (sung to the tune of Sixteen Tons)

Some places got a dive that's made in the mud,
A poor dive made outta low viz and crud,
Low viz and crud and cold and dark,
    A tank that's low and a mind that's narked.

You breathe three thousand pounds, whaddaya get,
Another day colder and deeper and wet.
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't stop,
I owe my soul to the local dive shop.

Earned my cert one mornin' when the ice finally broke.
I strapped on my gear and I stepped off the boat.
I breathed sixteen pounds, my best surface rate,
And the dive master hollered, "Well, ain't that great!"

You breathe three thousand pounds, whaddaya get,
Another day colder and deeper and wet.
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't stop,
I owe my soul to the local dive shop.

If you see me diving better get a grip.
Side-mounted pony and big knife on my hip.
One fin is DIR, the other one's split.
If the snorkel don't faze you then the MOF might fit.

You breathe three thousand pounds, whaddaya get,
Another day colder and deeper and wet.
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't stop,
I owe my soul to the local dive shop.

    -Bryan

PS Hear the original lyrics here on youtube.

Doc Vikingo, for "I find this assertion not compelling."

The measure of a good dive plan is its impermeability.
Poor dive plans, on the other hand, tend to be water-soluble.

You could do something with Twas the night befor christmas...

    here is a lame attempt....

twas the night before our 'coz trip and all through the house
not a creature was stirring not even a mouse
the gear was all packed by the front door with care
cozumel has great diving and soon we'd be there!

my dive buddy was nestled all snug in their bed
while visions of eagle rays danced in their head

How about something to the tune of I'm Dreaming of a Wet Christmas? Surely someone on this board has the talent to come up with something.
