Hey,

I was just wondering if the YS-27 battery compartment is completely sealed from the 'electronics' area of the camera. Got a little water in my battery compartment and was just wondering if it was sealed.

Thanks in advance.
Jim

Yes, the battery compartments are sealed. If wet or flooded dry out the compartment as best possible along with the battery cap contacts with fresh water and isopropyl alcohol to try to prevent salt crystallization and corrosion.

This just made my day! PHEW! Only out $10 worth of batteries and it was only pool water :) Thanks guys!

Sitting here this morning in Cozumel, that makes my day as well. Yesterday I opened my wife's YS-27 in between dives and poured out the water, well battery soup. Dried it out really well, the bulb area is completely dry. After reading this, I tried it just now and YES it works just fine. Have a little staining/corrosion on all the contacts, but other than that PERFECT. I will be ordering a new cap and oring, but that is NO PROBLEM.

thanks for the great design
