I don't normally subscribe to online petitions, but since Carrefour have just opened a new branch in Sharm-El-Sheikh, where I live and work, where the shark population has been decimated, this really got my back up. If these things have any effect at all, we'd welcome your signature:

The fight against shark fin soup is more important than ever now that CITES has voted to be of no help what so ever. It's up to us as divers and concerned Ocean conservationists to protect the shark that are left. Talk about shark, let non divers know shark are in trouble because of shark fin soup. It's eaten everywhere including all over the United States. Especially talk to young Asian students. Let's get the next generation of soup buyers, the future wedding couples and the future business executives talking about this. We must all get involved in this debate before it truly is too late for shark.
