With this initiative I would like to act against the sales of shark products, as there are many species affected which are on “the red list of threatened animal species” and therefore threatened by extinction.
I am determined to bring to light this situation and address both the sellers and consumers of these products, as they have mostly no idea of what they sell or buy. Sharks are not only endangered, there are also poisonous – if you eat them!
The mission of keep-sharks-alive is to enlighten people regarding sharks, and to provide a general understanding of sharks and reduce the fear of them.
I’m active throughout the world, but primarily in the local area. I contact food chains, fish shops, restaurants, etc. that sell shark products, indicate the source and try to convince them not to sell shark products anymore. Other activities are for example u/w photos, diving-events, flyer campaigns, and my presence at various other events / actions.
I also try to reconnect the story between sharks and cars, because I think this creates a much better representation and helps to build a bridge between sharks and human beings. For more information, visit www.jorges-garage.com.
