First annual beach cleanup both on the beach and in the water and under the water.

BBQ, clambake, food and drink, scuba diving and a beach to hang out on or help clean!

The date is finally upon us for one of the biggest events to hit the local dive industry. This Sunday from 9:00 to 4:00 there will be an under and above water beach cleanup (in case you haven’t heard) at Orchard Beach in the Bronx. We will be joined by all our local dive shops and dive clubs, from Long Island, New York City, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange Counties.

If you would like to dive there will be pickup trucks available to shuttle your gear from the parking lots at Orchard Beach up to the boardwalk and back.

After the diving there will be a huge BBQ and clambake so be sure to bring your favorite dish to show off. If you can bring a grill that would be great, if not just throw you specialty on one of the grills that will be fired up already.

Because the main theme is “beach cleanup” please bring reusable plates, knives and forks so that we can limit the amount of garbage that will be left behind.

Come on out and meet some old friends that you haven’t seen in a while, and some new ones that have been right in our backyard.
