The 13th annual Digital Shootout from the Little Cayman Beach Resort was a huge success with 60 participants from all corners of the globe! The Digital Shootout is the world's best learning event for underwater photographers wanting to take their imaging to the next level. It's a boot camp with benefits, combining spectacular diving with pro instruction from some of the industry's best. It's also a rare opportunity for the participants to demo the latest underwater imaging gear for free, provided by Backscatter Underwater Video & Photo and many of the industry's top manufacturers - Canon USA, Nauticam USA, Aquatica Digital, Light & Motion and Pegasus Thruster. And since it is a Shootout, there is a friendly contest at the end of the week with fab prizes totaling $30,000.

Be sure to review the Gear Tests section where the manufacturers reps and pros tested some of the latest underwater gear, putting through the paces of daily use, then reported their findings and recommendations. In Shootout Life, you'll get a taste of being there, with topside photos and videos depicting the week's fun. And don't forget about the Contest Results! We received nearly 500 still images and videos, all shot during the Shootout week. Congratulations to all of the participants for diligently working all week to improve their skills in diving, shooting and post processing... now that's a real working vacation!
