The SCUBA Show, America’s Largest Consumer Dive Expo, has been listed #21 on Expo Magazine’s Annual 25 Top Fast-Growth Shows. Included in this prestigious list are the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas and the Surf Expo in Florida.
“This is a great honor to be included on this list,” said Dale Sheckler show producer. “To be recognized by people outside the scuba industry, shows the dedication we have to promoting and maintaining growth.”
Looking for a place to party, dance, network, and have fun at the SCUBA Show, America’s largest consumer dive expo, with the chance to win valuable prizes? Join us on the Prize Boats Saturday evening, a California Ships to Reefs (CSTR) fundraising event that will be a highlight of the weekend. The party is June 4 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm and co-sponsored by SCUBA Show/ California Diving News and Truth Aquatics.
Attendees will mingle aboard three Truth Aquatics vessels which will be tied up along the Pine Avenue Dock, adjacent to the Convention Center. There will be drinks, food, music, dancing, games, a raffle for valuable prizes and a silent auction. At the end of the show day, it’s the perfect place to unwind and meet old friends and new. SCUBA Show will also be presenting their California Scuba Service Award at the party.
“The California Ships to Reefs fundraising parties are always a big draw,” said Joel Geldin, Chairman and CEO of CSTR. “People can enjoy a fun party, have a good chance to win wonderful prizes, and support artificial reefing in California. Our goal is to create a network of artificial reefs on the California coastline, creating rich new ocean environments and new diving opportunities.”
Tickets to the event are only $20 when purchased in advance and $25 at the door. The price includes one wine or beer drink or two soft drinks, delicious food and a door prize ticket. Raffle tickets are only $5. Games of chance on the Prize Boats will give party goers an opportunity to multiply their raffle ticket purchases. Attendance on the boats is limited, so we urge you to make your reservations early.
Geldin noted that sponsorship opportunities for the fundraiser are still available. “Industry members can showcase their products and gain name exposure and goodwill at our event,” he said.
Sponsor Glen Fritzler, the owner of Truth Aquatics, agreed. He said, “Truth Aquatics, California’s premier live aboard dive boat fleet, is proud to co-sponsor this wonderful event. We want to continue the pursuit of this amazing win-win project of creating artificial reefs.”
Dale Sheckler, the owner of SCUBA Show, said, "We look forward to again working with CSTR. Their efforts to sink ships will enhance the ocean environment, as artificial reefs grow marine life biomass and become attractions for diving enthusiasts."

I am not that far from Long Beach, so the owner of San Diego Scuba Diving Center is freeloading, uh, I mean, uh, he is staying with his beautiful wife at our humble abode so that we may attend. Thank God we have two bathrooms. Hahahaha! See all the rest of you frogs there!
