Sign Up for the UHMS Pacific Chapter Divers Day - Saturday September 17th, 2011
On Saturday September 17th 2001 the UHMS Pacific Chapter will be holding their annual Divers Day as part of their 2011 meeting on the USC Wrigley Marine Science Center Campus (home to the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber) on Catalina Island. The presentations covered during the day will be:
• Development and Use of The Catalina Consolidated Treatment Tables
• Why Divers Die
• Medical Aspects of Dive Travel
• Decompression Practices at the USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber
• Case Histories: Decompression Sickness, Clearance to Dive, PFOs, and Altitude Decompression Sickness
• Pulmonary Edema in Divers
• Medical Considerations of Rebreather Diving
Registration for the day is $155 for UHMS members and $165 for non-members, which will cover transportation to and from the island on Saturday via the USC School Boat (Miss. The Miss Christi will depart the mainland from the Southern California Marine Institute (SCMI) on Terminal Island at 7:30 am sharp! SCMI is located at 820 S. Seaside Ave., Terminal Island, CA 90731 (for GPS units and mapping software use San Pedro instead of Terminal Island). Miss. Cristi will depart the island at 5:00 pm and return to Terminal Island at 6:30pm. Parking is free on the street along S. Seaside Ave. Closed toed shoes are required.
