Am in the US now and flying back to Ecuador on Nov. 10, so I'm wondering if anything is planned after DEMA. Have never seen a manatee and would really like to. Anybody heard about anything or have any recommendations?
The manatee tour guys are likely to have a booth at DEMA. The manatees apparently come in to the springs about November time, depending on water temps, they'll be able to let you know if they're in. I'm thinking about it myself.
Air Tank Divers runs a small boat out of Homosassa, Florida. I have been out with them to swim with the manatees before and it was good. Took my brother and his oldest daughter. The shop is quite eclectic with various statues all around. The boat is small which is nice. You get more time with the manatees. Also, as I recall, there is a heater on the boat, and hot cocoa/coffee to help warm you up.
