I'm a Fish!
TCSD Group Page members ONLY!

Entry $25.00 - TCSD group page members, and guest ONLY!

Anything legal goes - No rays - Yes barracudas - Up to three fish will be measured - All three must be separate species, of legal size, in season, and taken by speargun, sling, or polespear while freediving from Treasure Shores Beach south of Sebastian Inlet. No SCUBA, unless you are only observing or taking photos. Kayak and shore dive only. No separate divisions - Individual contest - A partner IS advised to be with you and within a reasonable distance away as to afford verbal communications - For safety's sake. Be aware of muzzle control with spearguns as well!

Cash prize for 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd for largest lionfish - we MIGHT have some donated prizes as well but I'm not actively seeking them - If any prizes or sponsors come forward, great - bonus ;0)

Winner will be the person who enters up to three fish that are measured for length. The lengths of the three fish are then totaled and added for a score. EACH FISH MUST BE A DIFFERENT SPECIES! So in understanding that, a 'cuda, a Spanish mac, and a kingfish or a cobia would be the ticket, since they are all long bodied fish. Or a snapper, a spadefish, and a mullet could win lol if no one shoots any loooong fish! But you get the idea - Long fish will better your chances to win! In the event of a tie in length, either weight or the most commonly desired fish will decide the tie. All decisions are final and up to the judge or judges.

Weigh in will be at 2:30 sharp, be in line or have a good excuse everyone agrees with! As before waivers will need to be signed by parents or guardians of anyone under 18 - Parents ARE allowed to come and observe and even participate in the tourney and cook out as well - We welcome them! Waivers are available in our "Files" area on the TCSD group page for printing and to bring to tourney - I will also have some available at the event. A waiver must also signed by any and all adults in order to participate in the spearfishing part of the event.

TCSD tourneys are set up so ANYONE can win! TCSD tourneys and events are FAMILY and TEEN friendly - NO BOOZE HOUNDS ALLOWED, and good manners PLEASE! Anyone regarded as unruly or disorderly will be asked to leave.

There will be a 100 percent payout of cash AFTER minimal food and beverage expense for a small cookout style "after party" - Guest and family members of contestants can eat and have a beverage for a $5.00 donation that will be banked to offset the upfront cost of the next event held.

Payout for contest will be as follows: 1st place: 50 percent of all entrance fees! 2nd place gets 30 percent! 3rd place or biggest lion fish gets 20 percent! If ANY lion fish are entered the biggest WILL take the third place title - In the event of NO lion fish registered the 3rd place contestant will be judged the same as others - Up to three fish of separate species for total length.

* It IS possible to take two places in the event you get the big lion fish and place 1st or 2nd in the longest fish in aggregate part of the contest!

Bring food if you want - Beverages etc... We will have food and beverages for contestants as it comes out of the entry fees. For any "guest" a small fee will be charged if they want to eat what we're making. Probably hamburgers, hotdogs, all the fixins', suddenly salad, chips, and a softdrink or water.

You are responsible for YOUR fish - Please use or give away all speared fish to someone who will! No wanton waste of our precious natural resources! Even if you shoot a large cuda or some mullet - Crab bait, chum, whatever - Just USE it!

Be there or be square - June 15th TREASURE SHORES BEACH - 8:30 am - Be ready to lose or be ready to win - But BE READY!
