Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but ... I'm new to diving and am looking to purchase my own gear. I am pointing towards various Oceanic and Aeris components.

On the Oceanic website, it says that all authorized dealers (store and online) are identified with the "Authorized Shop & Buy" logo on their webiste.

I see a bunch of advertisements on THIS website for a place called 'Divers Supply' ( www.divers-supply.com ) and they offer Oceanic and Aeris equipment.

I do not, however, see the "Authorized Shop & Buy" logo on their site, nor do they come up in the list of authorized dealers when searching for them on the Oceanic website.

Is www.divers-supply.com an authorized Oceanic and/or Aeris dealer?

I want to make sure I'm not losing out on any warranties by purchasing products from non-authorized dealers.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I wonder why the Oceanic/Aeris website does NOT list them when searching for Authorized Dealers, though ...

It does list Divers Supply as an Authorized Dealer. (for their several stores).

See http://www.buyoceanic.com/locator/results.aspx?state=GA for the stores in Georgia.

Putting the Oceanic "Shop & Buy" Logo in any shops website doesn't mean crap. There have been "grey market" dealers before that were not Authorized Dealers put that on their website before. So even though Oceanic says to look for it, don't trust it.

Asking here or looking on the "DEALER LOCATOR" on the Oceanic website is the way to go. (actually asking here is not an "official answer" but lots of folks can point you to the authorized source of info).

Personally, I think it's kinda stupid of Oceanic to "require" dealers to put that logo on their website, because it really doesn't mean anything. I could put is on my website and it still doesn't mean anything. Lots of dealers don't bother putting it on their website.

There are two shops that show up if you do an internet search for divers supply. One is basically the divers supply you are talking about. It is a chain of stores. Another is sort of a commercial divers supply, but still operates under the same name.

To clarify the confusion about their stores, the Macon GA store is their main headquaters store. This is where their http://Divers-Supply.com online-store operation is run out of.

They also have smaller stores in the Atlanta area, Charlotte, Florida City, Jacksonville, and Tampa. See URL for locations - http://www.divers-supply.com/Divers-Supply-Locations-s/106.htm

However, it is possbile that not all locations carry all their brands. For example, their Tampa location doesn't carry Atomic products. (most likely there was another Atomic dealer already in that territory before they sold the products).

If you use the "Find an Authorized Dealer in your Area" box, you get all their stores (physical locations).

However, if you use the "Find an Authorized Online Dealer" search, they are NOT listed.

They don't have to be listed by Oceanic as an ONLINE dealer in order to be authorized to sell the product ONLINE (as opposed to in the stores)?
