Fish Bait for Snorkeling and Scuba diving.

I was out the other day Snorkeling/freediving and this guy had some kind of fish bait in a bottle that was attracting fish like crazy. I could tell that his fish bait was homemade, what was in that bottle? Do you use fish bait when you are out in the water?

My guess is he was using what I use.
Kibble type dog food mixed with water.

    Cheez Whiz aka Easy Cheese

I've seen everything from dog food to frozen peas work well, however, almost anything you take in the water with you is going to fall apart quickly - like a soup sandwich. At our favorite local quarry the most popular fish food was a can of Cheez Whiz (aka Kraft Easy Cheese)- best stuff ever. Squirt a little here and there and the fish come a runnin' - the good news is it is easy to keep in your BC pocket, never goes bad and never falls apart.

If you really want to have some fun, squirt a little on your mask lens and you'll get some crazy video that looks like little fish trying to eat your eyeballs.

You can also have loads of fun with your dive buddies by smearing a little on the top of their head or anywhere around their tank valve when they aren't looking... Be creative, the fun never stops with Cheez Whiz.

After the dive grab a box of Ritz crackers and your are snacking like a King!

Sometimes I'll take Gaines Burgers dog food.
    They don't fall apart.
The other stuff makes a chunky gravy but it works great.
Just put it in a bottle with a lid (water bottle) and unscrew and squirt as necessary.
The really small bits bring out the juvenille fish that can't eat the big chunks.

I will try the cheese whiz on the dog food and see how that works. then trick my dive buddy into eating it.
