I appriciate all the info. This is really what I was looking for. I have no desire to be a freediver of any sorts, but I am really just thinking of 10-15' dives and maybe having some time to actually see something while I am there. This info is much appriciated and I will certainly give it some try's. Thanks alot.

Being a freediver does not mean you have to go deep. As soon as you are under water without an air supply you are freediving. It's what I did for many years (all my life, really) until I learned (in a freediving class) to equalize my ears below that annoying 12 to 15 foot limit. So, you are already a freediver.
A class will teach you to be a safer freediver, and will also teach you how to go deeper and stay down longer. The class will teach you recovery breathing, for example, and will teach you why it's important. It will teach you why 90% of freediving blackouts happen on the surface after surfacing, and how to make sure such a blackout does not become a fatality. (Have a buddy watch you, closely, for half a minute before s/he begins a dive.) And so much more. If you go below the surface holding your breath, a freediving class will be more than worth the cost.
