Going to Catalina on Sunday with a group on the Sand Dollar(http://www.divingcharters.com/). Anyone have experience with them? Good? Bad?
This is going to be my first open water dives(finishing OW cert. class), so any and all information is welcomed. :)

thanks!

Hi clowe,

Welcome to the SoCal section of ScubaBoard! :happywave

I moved your post out into it's own thread, so that it wouldn't be overlooked in the Great Catalina Island Sticky thread.

Hopefully, you'll get more replies this way.

I personally have no experience with the Sand Dollar, so I can't help with that.

Thanks Headhunter. I was unsure how people here feel about starting new threads that have parts already being discussed in others.

KazInAz, Thanks for the "camping" info :) My class is with OHMS in Santa Ana and they use the Sand Dollar a lot apparently. Real user info is always better IMO than info on a website.

You're welcome!

Once you pass your OW cert, you need to come out and dive with all of us! We always have a good time and welcome new people.

the web site for the sand dollar is http://www.diving.net/

let us know how it is!

I know they have nitrox, but you need an O2 clean tank :(

they also only fill to 2400PSI, so you might want to bring a low-pressure tank, or call them and see if they have them on board
