Lobster Size

I always see signs saying dont take the big lobster as divers and hoop netters should be responsible. I agree with the policy . My question is what is the largest a lobster can be before it doesnt fit in a trap? Carpace length? Weight?

I think somewhere around 4lbs and bigger will not fit into the trap opening.
