So, everybody knows that I am finishing up my DIVEMASTER TRAINING (i rock) and Im out at Leo Carillo with my instructor and a host of noobs and we are sheparding them into the vast ocean past the surfline where I begin to put fins on the more uninitiated.
I have my Jet FINS securely on my arm, and I am going from one student to the next donning fins, when I feel my fin drop from my arm. My story is that the strap broke loose from the housing, UGH!
So now picture me in doubles, with one spring strapped jet fin looking for my other fin (team mates stop laughing) in 5-10 fsw.
That was the bad news. . . .
Now the good news. . . .
I FOUND MY FIN! Well not my jet fin but somebody elses spiffy Apollo schweet bio fin. One half of a very expensive $174 set of fins.
So, living up to the diver code, the owner of this bio fin can smile as I am glad I can help out a friend.
Tell me:
What color it is?
Size it is?
Between what two lifeguard towers you were situated when you lost it?
The date that you lost it?
And if you can identify all of that, your bio fin is going home.
IN THE INTERIM, CAN YALL HELP ME FIND MY JETFIN?
it wont be hard, as it is spring strapped and has ARCHANGEL 818 919 8433 WRITTEN IN YELLOW ACROSS THE BACK OF IT.
Hi Tevis,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I was at Deer Creek a while back with my brand new split fins & lost them both, I didn't tighten them enough so they came off & I had to swim back w/o fins that was fun. Luckily my fins float which I didn't know till I lost them & I had a surfer dude help me find them. Hope you find yours.
Good luck finding them T-Minus! If you don't I've got these for sale. They're a large, but I don't think they're "DIR" worthy because they're split fins.
May I also suggest these spring straps. I'm not sure if they are "DIR" worthy either because they have rubber handles and are easier to put on and take off then the regular spring straps you guys use. I got them off of ebay new for around $40, which included shipping from the UK.
Billy

Oh hey, I just pm'ed you Arch about the fin, other info, I was directly in front of that large parking lot at the very end of it. I didnt see any towers. Sorry I cant give you an exact date but it was at least 2.5 months now. I'm using freedive fins now but would love that Bio fin back. Thanks!
