I have been landlocked since I came back from vacation a few weeks ago. I am anxious to wet my gills, so I am planning on going to Catalina to do a few dives at Casino Point.

I would also consider a boat dive if there are any open boats available.

Anyone interested in getting together and going over to do some "casual" diving in our balmy water? Due to other commitments already scheduled I will not be available though for a couple of more weeks. So, I will be going on November 11. Leaving out of Long Beach on the Express in the early morn and returning on the evening boat.

We can use it as a pre-NDI dive club get together.

but I don't think that will work for me...anyway, was there last weekend. It was overcast, but not bad - about 30 ft viz, water about 64 degrees at 40 ft.

Surely, someone else must be available?

I saw where Pacific Star has an open boat for the 11th and thinking seriously of doing that.

Haven't ruled out Casino Point though, plus the LDS is doing a shore dive in Laguna on that date also.

I heard the vis last weekend at the Point was good, someone was saying it was between 60 and 70. Nice if that is true.

If not this time maybe some other time.

I heard it was great, too, earlier in the week. I did see it improve further away from the area where classes were, but there was a tide drop between dives, so there were a lot of particles floating around Sunday noonish. From the number of divers around, it is clear that summer is over...
