Never having dived Catalina Island I was wondering what ferry to take over and do you rent tanks and lead, rather than bring your own?

Thanks

Take the Catalina Express from Dana Point, Long Beach or San Pedro. You can bring your own tank and weights or rent them from Catalina Divers Supply at the Green Pier or on weekends at the point.

Plus there is a sticky which has quite a bit of good information on this.
Depending on where you live you can take the express over. I like to use the long beach terminal as they leave early, 0615.

Thanks

I use the ferry from Long Beach or Dana Point depending on whether I'm in the LA or San Diego areas. I've rented tanks and weights from both Scuba Luv and Divers Supply. It's hard to beat the convenience of getting what you need right at the dive park; it beats dragging tanks and weights around.

There are three dive shops here in town: SCUBA Luv, Catalina Divers Supply (CDS) and Dive Catalina. Each can rent you tanks and weights. CDS has the air fill station at the dive park which makes it much easier to rent since you don't have to lug the heavy gear out to the dive park. Long Beach Catalina Express has the best schedule for getting over here.

Dr. Bill thanks for the input it was nice meeting you on Saturday during the Demo days.
