A diver believed to be diving the Casino Point Dive Park apparently lost a camera in an underwater housing with a strobe. It was found floating in Avalon Bay and given to a lifeguard who gave it to Catalina SCUBA Luv. I picked it up and took it over to the L.A. County Sheriff's office here in Avalon.

If you lost such a rig, please call the LA County Sheriff (310-510-0174) and describe the components.

Please post a very detailed description of the rig (including information like serial numbers). Maybe it's the one I lost! (LOL)

It was a Camera in a housing with a strobe. Can I have it shipped back to me please...lol Some one is going to be very happy when they get it back. Glad someone was honest enough to turn it in, not many people would.

I'm pretty sure it's mine. Please check the card... mine has pictures of fish and scuba divers in black wetsuits... they're wearing air tanks... (lol)

Hope the real owner is okay and picks up the camera.

Yea that is kinda troubling. What is it was a diver that lost consciousness, died, and away his camera went. No telling how far it floated before it was picked up. I do hope that is not the case.

No way I'd keep someone else's rig. I'd hope that if I lost mine, someone would turn it in. Of course I have all my gear insured.

Apparently one of our lifeguards saw a female diver carrying the camera out to our dive park before it was lost. Hopefully she will see this notice or the ones I posted on other dive lists.
