I know there is nil chance of anyone running across it but those are the kinds of odds I like... Went diving with my brother today (12/3/04) and lost my mask & what have you (descriptions/pictures follow) about 400 feet out from the cliffs near "emerald cave" (dunno what you guys call it) at La Jolla Cove... If anyone finds it I will gladly give a suitable reward...

Looks like a garage sale bro, what did you do??? Probably chillin close to Ryan's stuff.........

I don't feel quite so bad about loosing my dive knife there.

La Jolla- black hole of scuba gear.

What's up man... how did you lose all that stuff? I'm glad your brother was with you. Were you guys showing off to the local teenage women again?

Good luck finding it, you can try to go back out with a bunch of people on a "search and retrieve" dive, you never know. I lost my light and Roger found it for me that way.

Hey after what I saw at that Wrinkles Dive in La Jolla, I believe anything is possible!

If you can find a buddies car key in the middle of the ocean weeks after he lost it, you can find anything. Who was it again that found krowsea's car key that he had lost weeks before?

Let's not forget about snakedr's wallet.

That's right! Left on the beach only to be found later and return to the bar with the crowd cheering at the news!

Surfaced for a bit to talk and then when we tried to go back down I was having problems with my left ear not being equalized... Couldn't get it to equalize even on the second attempt so went back to the surface to take my mask/hood off... Made a rookie mistake by not putting my mask around my neck and it slipped out of my hand... With the added weight of the light it went straight to the bottom like a rock... Didn't notice it was gone for a few minutes and by that time the current had made us drift quite a bit... Despite my brothers efforts he could not find it... That made Gomer a sad panda...

I went out and tried to look for it today to no avail...

I lost my fin during my first OW Check out dive in Catalina. One of my classmate step on it and accidentally pushed me cause he was having trouble controlling himself underwater. Nobody could find it that day. The next day the boat came back to the same spot and a diver found my fin. The boat's Captain called my Dive Instructor and he called me. Went to the boat and pick up my fin, after about 24-hours underwater near Catalina. So you never know. La Jolla is a pretty heavily dived spot.
