I was unlucky too.... one turtle, one small shark and a few lobsters....
It's a beautiful island but the diving seems overrated

Four days diving in April were great for us. Several nurse sharks, uncountable turtles, and many reef sharks (+barracudas, lobsters, rays, morays and some small stuff - flatworm, boxer shrimps, hermit crabs). Third day we enjoyed the most relaxing dives (let the sharks circle us, no "chasers" in our dive group of 3). Last day we had two dives on Pedras Secas, which provided great landscape dives in addition to sea life. Snorkling in Port, as well as in Praia do Sueste provides about the same sea life variety as the dives, yet from a different angle. Swell provides this great underwater ballet feeling. Nothing deep in the repertoire, but for us it was well worth it.
