June 21, 2008, Long Beach, California - DiveNav announced the production release of its popular eDiving™ service at the 2008 Long Beach Scuba Show. According to Alberto Mantovani, President and CEO of DiveNav, “I am pleased that we have completed our beta testing phase. Using input from our beta testers, we have made significant enhancements to create the most realistic underwater rendering engine available. Our beta testers will notice that we have added a significant amount of marine flora and fauna, including sharks, lobsters, eels, and topside improvements such as landmarks and buildings. By the end of the year, we will have all of the major dive sites in California available.”
In addition to the two dive sites available during beta testing, the Avalon Underwater Park, at Catalina and the HMCS Yukon in San Diego, eDiving will include 2 new eDive sites - Vallecitos Point, La Jolla Shores and Bird Rock, Catalina Island with plans to add new eDive sites weekly through the end of 2008.

The July winner of the eDiving Summer Contest is Brian Ko of Winnetk - San Fernando Valley, California
Brian commented that "The great thing about eDiving is that I can check out a site and figure out where everything is before I ever enter the water. A map is one thing, but the 3d environment of the eDive software gives me a much better picture in my mind, including relative distances. This helps me get oriented underwater when I do the actual dive and it helps me find points of interest faster. Having the 3d mental picture in your head can help reduce disorientation underwater, which reduces the amount of time you spend trying to figure out where you are or something else is, which in turn gives you more bottom time! It's almost like having a google streetview map for a dive site!"
Brian won a KnightHawk BCD with integrated Air2 by ScubaPro.
The week 7 of the eDiving Summer Contest is Erik Brun of Costa Mesa, California
This is what Erik said about eDiving "I have found the accuracy of the eDiving dive sites allows for scouting and good pre-dive planning. It's always nice to slip in a mid week "dive" on eDiving. I have already noted a few spots I need to go look for the next time I am at Birdrock."
Erik won a set of Atomic Split Fins with Spring Straps.
We are almost midpoint of the eDiving summer contest and the race for the Grand Prize is on with the top 3 eDivers separated only by few eDives from each other.
