Hello everyone,

I'm Dennis Kaleta president of SDE. We are launching a new dive reel at the 07 DEMA show, Here is the press release.

Spectrum Diving Equipment Inc. launches its first product at 2007 DEMA show

Spectrum Diving Equipment Inc. announced today it will launch the Reeler, the most advanced dive reel to date.

On Oct 31st at the DEMA show in Orlando Florida, Spectrum Diving Equipment Inc. will show their market ready product, the Reeler. Those attending the show will also have a sneak preview of the finished design for the Autoreeler (the first automatic and hands free dive reel). These unique, innovative ideas will be featured in the new product showcase and also at their display booth # 875.

Mr. Dennis Kaleta, inventor of the reels and president of Spectrum Diving Equipment Inc., has spent over two years researching and developing the Reeler and Autoreeler. He has applied for patent.

The advanced design of the Reeler will make using a dive reel easier than ever before. For the first time you just hold and wind in, no line tending, no bird nests, no tangles no uneven line build up, and no more hassles. Divers will also appreciate the added features of an ergonomic handle and spool lock.

The Autoreeler, with its automatic feature and hands free operation, will change the way diving is done with a reel. This is the first reel that will allow you to use your hands for other tasks while returning to your starting point. Wreck divers will be unencumbered while using the Autoreeler. Underwater photographers, video operators, and spear fisherman will now be able to use a wreck reel while carrying or using gear. Cave divers will have one less piece of gear that needs constant attention.

Mr. Kaleta states that only top quality components are used in manufacturing this product. The body is molded out of Acetyl, and 316 stainless steel is used on all exposed metal. Components include a line leveler and line tensioning system which allows 67% more line, and a spring loaded drag knob to stop free spooling. The Autoreeler has all these features and more while using just four readily available AA batteries for power. The Autoreeler uses a specialized motor. Mr. Kaleta stated “The motor is very small and delivers a lot of power for its size. With its high precision capability it is used in the aerospace industry, and in laboratory measuring equipment.” In addition, the unit can also be operated in a manual mode as a safety back up. He also stated that their goal is to manufacture exceptional pieces of equipment.

Sorry about that Mike, we have additional info on the website there is a link on the bottom of the release. Thanks El Orans for the quick help. The prices are also listed on the website. I just want to make it clear before everyone says "that much" that these are exceptional pieces of equipment made to last and work extremely well. We decided there were enough cheap reels on the market.
