The Cape Verde storms are lining up, one after another - it's that time of year. Danielle is History, Earl is a hurricane threat to even Massachusetts and Nova Scotia but a bigger threat to North Carolina, Fiona is headed for Bermuda as a Tropical Storm, and here comes the next one - building strength as he heads for the Leewards...

maps should auto update for the duration...

or maybe the Windwards...?

Looks like he failed - dropped off of the charts.

Yep, by the grace of God. We were looking at hits from two Cat 2 hurricanes in the space of a week...

I'm concerned about this storm hitting here next Thursday.

Its Cape Verde hurricane season.

The remains of Gaston are still out there trying to reform (too much dry air for now), while 99L is coming off the coast of Africa and the GFS and ECMWF models are predicting another tropical wave to come off Africa in the next week.

You guys definitely live in a meteorologically 'exciting' area of the globe...

Gaston is the one which worries me.It's there, it's not.

And the name "Gaston" sounds like one we could talk about for decades. "Camille, Katrina, Gaston".

It sings.

THE REMNANT LOW OF GASTON LOCATED ABOUT 800 MILES EAST OF THE
LEEWARD ISLANDS IS MOVING WESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH. SHOWER AND
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS CURRENTLY LIMITED...HOWEVER...
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR RE-DEVELOPMENT OF
THIS SYSTEM AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD RE-FORM IN THIS AREA
LATER TODAY OR MONDAY. THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE...70 PERCENT...OF
THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE AGAIN DURING THE NEXT 48
HOURS.

Gaston will effect the Northern Caribbean next week. For me on the north shore... I don't think we'll see much more than some wind and rain.

The Remnant of Gaston moved through here today. It started raining last night, and we got a crapload of rain for almost 24 hours. Now, it's nice and cool out (low 70's) :)

LOL.

Igor is out here now. But the force from Jupiter inlet shall keep that one away as well.

(I read it someplace. :))
